In the modern world, various issues in numerous sectors are being solved using artificial intelligence and computer technologies. It is hard to imagine contemporary tourism without computer technologies. Applying methods of designing knowledge bases using ontology allows for further development of the system. When creating a tourism ontology, it is necessary to develop a research architecture. A conceptual schema of an ontology-oriented recommendation system is created. Based on the concept of tourism ontology, a traveler's ontology is formed. During the process of ontology refinement, the efficient operation of the tourism ontology is monitored. The article discusses the creation of a computer ontology in the field of tourism and the search for interesting places for tourists, as well as suggestions for the development of the sector based on these findings.
