Abstract. This article provides a comparative analysis of foreign and national experiences in preparing 5-7 year old children of preschool age for school education. In particular, weekly work plans used in the preschool education system of the Republic of Korea and current approaches in the preschool education system of Uzbekistan were studied. The study highlights that the issue of preparing children for literacy in Uzbekistan has been raised to the level of state policy, and that as a result of the reforms implemented in the field of preschool education in recent years, modern pedagogical approaches aimed at ensuring children's readiness for school have been introduced. The content and methodological foundations of literacy training based on the "State Requirements for the Development of Children of Early and Preschool Age" and the national curriculum “Ilk Qadam” are analyzed, and the effective aspects of integrating foreign experiences into the national education system are substantiated.
