Annotation. This article analyzes the significance of the neurolinguistic approach in native language education, its aspects as a methodological problem, and the possibilities of its application in the educational process, and examines the role of neurolinguistic mechanisms in the development of students' speech activity. The theoretical and methodological foundations of the neurolinguistic approach to teaching the native language in the process of primary education are analyzed. Based on scientific sources, the inextricable connection of the process of language learning with the activity of the human brain, the mechanisms of speech perception and production, and the features of the cognitive development of students are highlighted. Also, the role and importance of the neurolinguistic approach in the effective organization of native language education, taking into account the psychological and age characteristics of primary school students, are revealed. The article presents the methodological features of the lesson process organized on the basis of a neurolinguistic approach, didactic methods that serve the development of students’ speech activity, a system of exercises and practical tasks.
