This article analyzes the role of railway transport in the Bukhara region within the national economy of the republic and its historical development processes. In particular, it examines the operation of the Ashgabat railway line through the Bukhara region during the 1950s– 1980s and its economic and strategic importance. The study highlights the role of railway transport in the post–World War II recovery of the national economy, the acceleration of freight transportation, and the delivery of cotton and raw materials to the central regions of the USSR. Furthermore, based on the activities of stations such as Kagan, Kyzyltepa, and Karakul, the article analyzes railway workers’ performance, socialist competitions, and the Stakhanovite movement aimed at increasing labor productivity. The study reveals the importance of the Bukhara railway system in the economic development of the region.
