The article comprehends the environmental problems, recognized as one of the urgent problems of the world space, and the socio-philosophical directions of their systematic elimination, shows the place and role of the concept of environmental control in the elimination of environmental threats. It analyzes the positive impact of the environmental control on the society and its social-philosophical implications. It substantiates the socio-cultural factors of stemming new environmental problems based on the theoretical-conceptual approaches about the notion of environmental control. The article presents contemporary tendencies of achieving environmental sustainability.
