The article examines, systematizes, and analyzes indicators for assessing the use of agricultural land in different regions. Certain shortcomings in the assessment methodology have been identified, resulting from the insufficient comprehensiveness of the indicators used, and additional indicators have been proposed. The indicators have been classified according to their natural, economic, and organizational characteristics, and proposals have been developed to improve the assessment methodology. The efficiency of land use has been assessed using the example of one region.
