Annotatsiya

Nowadays, the quality of human capital in the economy is one of the important factors that directly affects labor market stability, production efficiency, and the rate of economic growth. As a result of digitalization, artificial intelligence, automation, demographic shifts, and the emergence of new sectors of the economy, the requirements for employees in the labor market are rapidly changing. Under such conditions, it is not sufficient to assess human capital solely by the level of education. Along with an employee’s professional knowledge, digital literacy, analytical thinking, ability to master new technologies, communicative competence, and adaptability to a changing work environment are also of great importance. This article analyzes the role of human capital in labor market transformation, the mismatch between professional skills and employers’ requirements, the impact of technological development on the nature of employment, and the importance of lifelong learning in the modern labor market. Using the labor market of Uzbekistan as an example, the article substantiates the need to improve the quality indicators of labor resources amid their growing numbers, engage young people in productive employment, align vocational education with the needs of the economy, and create highly productive jobs.
