The study of the genetic basis of bronchial asthma susceptibility is reviewed in the literature. The molecular-genetic processes of bronchial asthma development are explained in detail. Analyzed are the findings of investigations on the relationship between the phenotypic symptoms of the illness and the polymorphism of the β2-adrenoceptor gene in various groups. The effects of polymorphic variations of the β2-adrenoceptor gene on the onset of asthma and the efficacy of this disease's therapy are discussed in this article. provided.
