Today, due to the urbanization and industrialization of society, there is an increase in the incidence of urethral strictures due totransport injuries. According to some authors, in the future it is natural to increase the number of patients with urethral stricturesdue to the widespread use of endourethral methods of treatment for BPH and urolithiasis. An increasingly common cause ofurethral strictures is a specific skin disease - lichen sclerosis. Sexually transmitted infections and, above all, gonorrhea, are lessand less likely to cause urethral stricture, because they are successfully treated with antibiotics.
