This article is devoted to the analysis of the interaction of such concepts as "democracy" and "forms of exercise of public power" in the constitutional and legal dimensions. The author, exploring various forms of public authority, taking into account their theoretical specifics, as well as practical implementation, assesses the formation of the principles of democracy in them. Such phenomenon as "democracy" and its essence are studied in detail. Forms of public power are evaluated precisely from the point of view of how they reveal the principle of democracy. Taking into account the complexity of social relations arising from the implementation of the power belonging to the people, the paper substantiates the conclusion that it is possible to use several approaches in the study of the nature of the interaction between forms of public power and democracy.
