This article analyzes the linguocultural, semantic, and pragmatic features of male and female written discourse expressed in the form of letters in selected works of classical and contemporary Uzbek literature. Particular attention is paid to the functions of letters in literary texts, including communication, plot development, character portrayal, the representation of social relations, and the transmission of cultural values. The differences between male and female letters are interpreted not as biological distinctions, but as phenomena shaped by the social roles constructed by the author, the historical context, communicative purpose, the relationship between the sender and the addressee, and prevailing cultural norms. The findings indicate that in classical literature, male written discourse is more frequently associated with social status, advice, political and moral content, whereas female written discourse tends to foreground personal experience, loyalty, separation, and family relationships. In contemporary literature, however, these boundaries have become relatively more flexible.
