The article presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the knife ofthe loosener of a machine for processing and sowing grain crops on sloping fields. The mainparameters of the loosener are substantiated. According to the results of the research, to ensure highquality soil crumbling with minimal energy consumption, the installation height of the ripper kniferelative to the toe of the chisel is 15 cm, the installation angle of the knife blade to the direction ofmovement of the ripper is 30-35°, and its working width is 10 cm.
