Resume. This article discusses the actualization (realization) of the similes (comparisons) used byMahmud Kashgari in his work "Devonu Lug'otit-Turk" in the contemporary Uzbek language. It is highlightedthat the article analyzes views suggesting that the similes present in the work have been preserved to thisday on the basis of tools that are equivalent in form and meaning, as well as those based on partial similarity,while opinions regarding the complete disappearance of some similes from current usage are also examined.
