The article examines the legal status of public associations, their role in the life of society and the state. The forms of public associations and the goals of their organization are indicated. The article analyzes the constitutional and legal guarantees of the activities of sports federations as a public association, some legal issues of regulating the activities of governing bodies, and some legal problematic situations arising from their financing. Some powers of state bodies in relation to relations with professional sports were analyzed. The legal basis of membership in a non-profit organization of economic entities (football clubs) (Football Association of Uzbekistan) is analyzed. It is particularly noted that fundamental changes in the socio-economic life of our country and the construction of the state lead to significant changes in the socio-cultural activities of society, including in the field of physical education and in the national system of physical education.
