Methods for the chemical addition of guanidine fragments to macromolecules of pectin polysaccharides and some of theirderivatives containing reactive aldehyde groups were developed. Reaction conditions were found that make it possible tosynthesize products that differ in structure, composition, and other characteristics. It was proven that the chemical binding ofguanidine to polysaccharide molecules could be carried out through azomethine, amine, and ionic bonds.
