The article reveals the advantages of using gossypol and its azo derivatives as a lead ion agent. A simple and express method forthe spectrophotometric determination of lead ions using azo derivatives of gossypol is presented. The optimal conditions forspectrophotometric determination were determined, a graduated graph with a linear relationship between the optical density andlead concentration (2.0–50.0 μg/25 ml) was constructed under the established optimal conditions, the composition and stabilityconstant of the complex of the metal ion with the gossypolase derivative were determined.
