Using the pedagogical potential of folklore in preparing future preschool educators for professional activity

Annotatsiya

Introduction. The transformation of preschool education is expanding the professional requirements placed on educators. A modern educator is expected not only to organize children’s daily activities but also to support their intellectual, moral, aesthetic, social, and cultural development. For this reason, professional preparation in higher education should combine theoretical knowledge with the ability to use national pedagogical experience in real educational situations. Folklore is a particularly valuable resource because it embodies moral ideals, life experience, attitudes toward labor, friendship, solidarity, respect, and patriotism in an emotionally accessible form [1]. The pedagogical value of folklore is especially evident in preschool education, where imagery, narration, rhythm, dialogue, and emotionally colored situations are more accessible to children than abstract explanations. Fairy tales make it possible to analyze characters’ behavior and moral choices; proverbs and sayings support concise life-based conclusions; riddles stimulate observation and comparison; folk songs develop aesthetic sensitivity; epics and legends broaden historical and cultural understanding [2; 3].
