Studying the classics of our time and the historical treatise «Khabib us-siar», the biography of the great thinker of the East Alisher Navoi was studied and it was also compared with the works of the orientalist V.V. Barthold. One of such unnoticed details was the time of Alisher Navoi’s stay in Mashhad and the ensuing question about his exile to Samarkand. Unfortunately, no information was left about how long Navoi lived in Mashhad, and the poet’s student Khondamir, in his works, is also silent about the details of that period of the poet’s life and the date of his return to Herat. This takes place during the reign of Abu Said, who, according to sources, seized the throne of Khorasan in 1457. In addition, for some time the poet lived in Samarkand. Khondamir defines this trip as «from Khorasan to Samarkand for study.» If we take into account that Mashhad was part of Khorasan, then the inaccuracies that exist in modern navigation in the matter of the details of the poet’s trip to Samarkand are clearly revealed. According to sources, a poet who served one king could also successfully serve the next shah who killed him and took his throne. There is plenty of evidence for this in history
