This article presents an unsystematized review of the literature on Takayasu's disease. The main aspects of etiopathogenesis, classification, clinical manifestations and criteria for diagnosing this disease are highlighted. The potential ophthalmic manifestations of Takayasu's disease are described separately. An analysis of the literature showed that there is a large amount of information about nonspecific aortoarteritis, however, there are few scientific studies on early diagnosis, prevention of complications and modern treatment of changes in the organ of vision using modern laboratory and instrumental methods.
