A direct electrochemical method for the determination of sulfur-containing compounds in motor fuels using copper-modified screen-printed electrodes (Cu-SPCE) and square-wave voltammetry has been developed. The electrode surface was modified by electrodeposition of copper from solutions containing Cu(II) ions. It was shown that the formation of a copper coating leads to an increase in the electrochemically active surface area, a decrease in charge transfer resistance, and an enhancement in the sensitivity of sulfur-containing compound determination. The electrochemical properties of the sensors were investigated using cyclic voltammetry, square-wave voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, SEM, and EDX analysis. The detection limit was found to be approximately 0.05 mmol/L, the correlation coefficients of the calibration plots exceeded R² > 0.99, and the relative determination error did not exceed 10%. The method was successfully applied to the analysis of gasoline samples of various grades and diesel fuel, demonstrating good agreement with the results obtained by ASTM D2622 and potentiometric titration methods.
