Annotatsiya

In this study, activated carbon samples derived from walnut shells and chemically activated using H₃PO₄, KOH, and ZnCl₂ were comparatively evaluated in terms of their morphological features, pore development, and surface characteristics. The results obtained from scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed that the sample activated with H₃PO₄ exhibited a relatively uniform microporous structure. In contrast, the carbon produced using KOH demonstrated the formation of macro- and mesopores with a broad size distribution. Meanwhile, the ZnCl₂-activated sample was characterized predominantly by the development of a mesoporous framework. The findings confirm that the type of chemical activating agent plays a critical role in governing the structural organization and textural properties of nanoporous carbon-based sorbents.
