This article examines the development stages of the green economy in the context of achieving globalsustainability goals. The study analyzes the theoretical foundations of the green economy concept, its evolution, and its rolein addressing contemporary environmental, economic, and social challenges. Particular attention is paid to the relationshipbetween green economy principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations. Theresearch identifies the main stages of green economy development, including the emergence of environmental awareness,the transition to sustainable development, the implementation of green growth strategies, and the formation of a lowcarbonand resource-efficient economy. The article also discusses international experiences and policy approaches aimedat promoting sustainable economic transformation. The findings highlight that the green economy serves as an effectivemechanism for balancing economic growth, environmental protection, and social well-being, thereby contributing to theachievement of global sustainability objectives
