The article analyzes the scientific and practical aspects of applying modern reclamation and GIStechnologies to saline soils in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The causes, scale, and consequences of soilsalinization are described, while the impact of drip and subsurface irrigation on soil properties is evaluated.In addition, the possibilities of using geographic information systems for salinity monitoring are outlined. Thearticle also substantiates state programs aimed at developing reclamation activities in Uzbekistan and identifiespriority directions for Karakalpakstan.
