The article deals with the lesson of physical education at school as one of the forms of development of volitional qualities in schoolchildren. The lesson of physical education in secondary schools has some advantages in the formation and development of volitional qualities in schoolchildren through the use of physical education. To achieve the goal throughout the research experiment, the academic еar was divided into three stages, which allowed students to adapt to physical activity. The author notes that in the course of the experiment, the lesson acted as one of the forms of using the means of physical education to solve the problem of the development of volitional qualities in schoolchildren and the development of such volitional qualities as purposefulness, endurance, perseverance, determination, and initiative. The author proves that the volitional qualities of schoolchildren develop through the performance of physical exercises, and the lesson of physical education as a means plays an important role in their development.
