Vegetative dysfunction syndrome (VDS) in elderly patients is a common clinical condition characterized by impaired autonomic regulation, reduced adaptive capacity, and cognitive decline. Bioacoustic correction (BAC) is a non-pharmacological intervention aimed at restoring autonomic balance and improving cognitive functions.Aim. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of bioacoustic correction (BAC) therapy in improving cognitive function, autonomic regulation, and cardiopulmonary adaptive capacity in elderly patients with vegetative dysfunction syndrome (VDS).Materials and Methods. The study included 130 elderly patients diagnosed with vegetative dysfunction syndrome (VDS). Group I — sympathicotonia (n = 72; mean age 68.3 ± 3.9 years). Group II — vagotonia (n = 58; mean age 64.1 ± 4.5 years). Main subgroup: standard therapy + BAC therapy. Comparative subgroup: standard therapy alone. Standard therapy included pharmacological treatment, physiotherapy, and physical rehabilitation. BAC therapy consisted of sessions aimed at stabilizing autonomic nervous system (ANS) function and increasing the body’s adaptive capacity.Results. Bioacoustic correction (BAC) demonstrated a significant advantage compared with standard therapy alone in elderly patients with VDS. Cognitive indicators improved reliably in patients receiving BAC: MMSE increased from 26.4 to 28.2 points, FAB from 16.5 to 18.2 points, and the Clock Drawing Test from 7.6 to 9.4 points. Improvements were even more pronounced in the vagotonic subgroup (p < 0.01).Cardiorespiratory parameters also improved substantially: Stange test duration increased from 35.2 to 42.3 seconds, Skibinskaya index from 12.1 to 20.4 points, and the Ruffier index decreased from 8.2 to 6.3 (p < 0.01).Thus, BAC significantly enhances cognitive function and adaptive physiological capacity compared with standard therapy alone.Conclusion. Bioacoustic correction therapy, when combined with standard treatment, effectively improves cognitive and autonomic functions in elderly patients with VDS. Its application increases the adaptive reserves of the body and can be recommended as part of comprehensive therapy in gerontological practice.
