Annotatsiya

Military terminology has been studied across many languages and academic traditions, producing a large but scattered body of research. This paper reviews eleven doctoral and thesis-level studies from Russian, Arabic, English, and Tajik contexts. It traces how the field has moved from structural-semantic description toward cognitive, sociolinguistic, and discourse-oriented approaches. The review identifies key findings in each area and highlights persistent gaps, particularly the lack of cross-linguistic comparison and the underrepresentation of non-European languages.
