The pathology of the biliary tract is becoming increasingly widespread. Thus, the number of patients suffering from cholelithiasis ranges from 7.8 to 38% in different countries, and from 3 to 12% in Russia. Chronic diseases of the biliary tract, and especially cholelithiasis, are of particular significance in elderly people, which is connected both with morphofunctional changes in the body of older people and with an unhealthy way of life. All this requires a differentiated approach to the treatment of this group of patients and includes a change of lifestyle, diet therapy, and pharmacological and physiotherapeutic treatment.
