По данным литературы определины факторы риска хирургических осложнений при пластике вентральных грыж, потребность в интенсивной терапии и повторной госпитализации после пластики. Доказана гипотеза о том, что существует связь между повышенной частотой осложнений после пластики вентральной грыжи и специфическими факторами, включая размер грыжи, ИМТ>35, сопутствующую операцию на кишечнике, класс ASA, возраст, пол и метод пластики грыжи.
