Museums, as an integral part of the urban structure, have their own vector of development and their own trends. This article makes a brief excursus into the design and functioning of the world's museums. The planning features and structures of museums, the types of zoning and the lines of visitor movement have been studied. The interiors of modern museums, as well as their interaction with the exposition space, have been taken into account.
