Knowledge of word meanings plays an important role in developing pupils' subject-related, core and linguistic competences, while thesaurus models play an important role in mastering word meanings. Thesauruses come in various forms, and they consist mainly of semantically related words. This article describes the stages of creating thesauruses with pupils by the project method in 6th-grade native language lessons.
