The article presented considers questions concerning the process of cultivating artistry in gymnasts in accordance with the programme requirements. The main attention is paid to the rational selection of choreography exercises and to their distribution within the competition composition. The results of the experimental research made it possible to consider the combination of elements from different difficulty groups and of the musical accompaniment with regard to the gymnast's temperament.
