Annotatsiya

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most influential forces shaping contemporary education. InEnglish Language Teaching (ELT), it affects almost every aspect of instruction – from curriculum design to assessment.Yet, despite the increasing presence of AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, and Duolingo, the human teacherremains central to the learning process. This article explores how the teacher’s role is being redefined in the AI era, emphasizing the balance between machine efficiency and human empathy. The paper argues that while AI can enhanceteaching effectiveness, it cannot replace the teacher’s moral, emotional, and creative functions. The key lies in redefiningteachers not as transmitters of knowledge, but as mediators, facilitators, and co-learners who guide students in navigatingan AI-enriched learning environment
