Annotatsiya

The effective teaching of the diagnosis and treatment of Tethered Cord Syndrome (TCS) requires not only the transmission of theoretical knowledge but also the development of advanced clinical thinking skills among graduate medical students. Traditional teaching methods are often insufficient for preparing students to manage complex clinical cases. This study aims to explore modern pedagogical approaches that enhance clinical reasoning and decision-making skills in teaching TCS to graduate-level medical students. The study emphasizes student-centered learning strategies, including problem-based learning (PBL), case-based discussions, simulation-based training, and the integration of digital technologies. Real-life clinical scenarios are used to encourage students to analyze symptoms, interpret diagnostic imaging, and make evidence-based decisions regarding both surgical and conservative management. Interdisciplinary teaching involving neurology, neurosurgery, and radiology is also applied. Additionally, reflective practice and formative assessment methods, such as Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), are incorporated. The application of these modern approaches significantly improves students’ ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical practice. Learners demonstrate enhanced critical thinking, improved diagnostic accuracy, and better clinical decision-making skills. Simulation and digital tools increase engagement and provide a safe environment for skill development. Modern pedagogical approaches play a crucial role in developing clinical thinking in the teaching of TCS. These methods better prepare future healthcare professionals to accurately diagnose and effectively manage the condition, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and higher quality medical education.
