This study investigates the linguopoetic features of gender-related terms in literary discourse, focusing on their semantic, stylistic, and pragmatic functions in English literature. The research aims to reveal how gender-specific lexical units contribute to characterization, narrative perspective, ideological representation, and the construction of social identities within literary texts. Employing a qualitative research design, the study combines linguopoetic analysis, contextual interpretation, stylistic examination, and elements of discourse analysis. The corpus consists of selected novels by Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, Charlotte Brontë, and William Shakespeare’s dramatic works, all of which provide diverse representations of gender through language. The findings demonstrate that gender-related terms extend beyond their denotative meanings and function as significant artistic devices that reflect cultural values, interpersonal relationships, power structures, and historical transformations of gender ideology. Furthermore, metaphorical expressions, evaluative vocabulary, forms of address, and descriptive lexical choices play a crucial role in constructing literary images and shaping readers’ interpretation of characters. The study contributes to contemporary linguopoetics by integrating linguistic and literary perspectives in the analysis of gender representation. Its findings may serve as a valuable resource for scholars in stylistics, discourse analysis, gender linguistics, and literary criticism, while also providing methodological guidance for future interdisciplinary research on gender in literary discourse.
