Annotatsiya

Modern orthodontics is undergoing a period of intensive digital transformation, as a result of which traditional methods of diagnosing and assessing morphological changes in the dentoalveolar system are partially giving way to digital technologies. One of the key parameters for evaluating the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment is the Pont index, which reflects the morphological correspondence of teeth and occlusion. Traditional measurement methods require significant time and human resources and are also prone to subjective errors. The introduction of digital technologies—3D scanning, software-based analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence—opens new prospects for improving the accuracy, speed, and reproducibility of Pont index measurements. This article examines modern digital tools, their advantages and limitations, as well as current scientific data on their application in clinical practice.
