A NEW PARADIGM ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HYPERPROLACTINEMIA AND MINERAL METABOLISM DISORDERS IN GYNECOLOGICAL AND OBSTETRIC OUTCOMESS

Hyperprolactinemia, characterized by elevated serum prolactin levels, is often associated with hypothyroidism, pituitary dysfunction, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This study aimed to assess the impact of hyperprolactinemia on mineral metabolism, bone health, and reproductive outcomes, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of combined treatment with mineral complexes and vitamin D.A total of 134 women of reproductive age were examined, including 52 with hypothyroidism and hyperprolactinemia, 42 with PCOS and hyperprolactinemia, and 40 healthy controls. Patients were divided into subgroups depending on therapy protocols: pathogenetic treatment alone or in combination with mineral complexes and cholecalciferol. Clinical, hormonal, biochemical, and instrumental parameters were monitored, and pregnancy outcomes were analyzed after treatment. The findings demonstrated that women with hyperprolactinemia showed impaired calcium–phosphorus metabolism, vitamin D deficiency, and reduced bone mineral density. Hormonal imbalance, insulin resistance, and menstrual dysfunction were more pronounced in patients with PCOS. Supplementation with minerals and vitamin D in addition to standard therapy significantly increased pregnancy rates and reduced obstetric complications, including miscarriage, gestational hypertension, and preeclampsia.In conclusion, hyperprolactinemia contributes to mineral metabolism disorders, osteopenia, and reproductive dysfunction. A comprehensive therapeutic approach with mineral support and vitamin D not only improves reproductive outcomes but also reduces the risk of adverse pregnancy complications in women with hyperprolactinemia.
