Annotatsiya

In recent decades, treatment methods aimed at reversing the progression of Parkinson's disease (PD) have generated significant interest. PD is characterized by a gradual loss of dopaminergic (DA) neurons and a decrease in dopamine levels in the striatum. Current challenges include optimizing neuroprotective strategies, developing personalized drug therapies, and minimizing side effects from long–term administration of pharmacological agents used to alleviate short–term motor symptoms. Cell transplantation of DA cells into the brains of PD patients to replace degenerated DA has the potential to change the treatment paradigm. This review provides updated information on the current progress of transplanting DA neurons derived from stem cells as a therapeutic alternative for PD. Sources of cells for transplantation are described, and the focus is on cell evaluation methods such as identification of genetic markers, single–cell sequencing, and visualization techniques used to assess cell survival and function.
