This article presents opinions that foreign words included in the Uzbek literary language and dialects are acquired both through oral speech and through the literary language. In the Surkhandarya Uzbek dialects, Persian-Tajik words were assimilated into the vocabulary of the Uzbek dialects mainly through oral speech. Arabic words and terms were assimilated into our literary language mainly through book language and partly through oral speech. It passed into our dialects and vernaculars mainly orally.
