In this article, the formation of the concept of poverty in the conditions of economic growth, its socio-economic consequences, criteria for measuring the level of poverty, and a practical proposal for reducing it have been developed. The level of poverty is expressed in the production capabilities of the country and the lifestyle of the population, and it is studied that it manifests itself as a social issue in almost all economic systems, proposals for managing the mechanisms of its reduction have been developed.
