In this article, the state of the environmental component of the economy of industrial enterprises is expressed, and approaches to the impact of industrial enterprises on the environment are considered. Analysis of periodicals of scientific research is also carried out in order to identify the most urgent problems on the topic of research. Also, the advantages and disadvantages of economic and environmental efficiency evaluation methods are analyzed
