This article offers a philosophical analysis of vitality, peace, and tranquility as central concepts in Khoja Yusuf Hamadani’s “Rutbat ul-hayat” (“Criterion of Life”). Hamadani’s work contrasts two perspectives on the meaning of life: one that prioritizes material wealth and another that emphasizes spiritual fulfillment. Through a comparison of these perspectives, the article explores the themes of self-control and the cultivation of a virtuous character.
