Turkestan has long been the only place of residence and common homeland of the peoples of the Central Asian region. This region, where the indigenous population of the Turkestan, Bukhara, Khorezm republics for centuries were very close to each other in their customs, traditions, lifestyle, religious beliefs, was distinguished by a single territory, religious beliefs, community of their economy and culture. Turkic peoples have long lived in each of the states on the territory of Turkestan: Uzbeks, Turkmens, Karakalpaks, Kazakhs, Kirghiz, as well as Tajik people. The peoples of the Turkestan region considered their only land, ancestral homeland. The idea that the peoples of the region are united and has been passed down from generation to generation, reflected in the socio-political and practical activities of national leaders. Such an ancient Turkestan has been under the yoke of colonialists for many years. The colonialists sought to introduce a perfect system of government of the country, which primarily served them. In this they were guided by the principle of "divide - rule".
