In this article, the author analyzes the work “Da Tang Siyu-tzu” of the Buddhist monk Xuanzan, who visited the Central Asian region in the early Middle Ages, and other sources on the history of Central Asia in this source. This article is devoted to one of the most pressing problems in the history of Central Asia in the early Middle Ages. It is known that information about the travels of Buddhist monks who visited the Central Asian region in the early Middle Ages, the information contained in them is not yet available in Arab-Persian sources and covers a relatively dark period, and the article fills this gap. Among them stands out “Da Tang Shiyu Ji” by Xuanzan. Based on the information in the work, the article provides valuable information about the modern regions of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. In particular, this article analyzes the work and describes the memories and thoughts of the Chinese monk and traveler Xuan Zang about the customs, lifestyle, clothing of the peoples of Central Asia. There are also records of the population and geographical location of some regions of the country. The journey of the Chinese Buddhist monk Xuan Zang dates back to the rule of the Tang Dynasty in China. During this time, cultural, political, economic and trade ties between the Tang dynasty and Central Asia developed, and the article provides examples of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This article serves as additional material for scientific papers published to date.
