Мақола Сингапурда 1945 йилдан 1965 йилгача бўлган воқеаларга бағишланган. Муаллиф тарихий манбалар асосида Сингапур мустақилликга эришиши, ундан сўнгги 20 йилда дуч келган қийинчиликларини ўрганиб, тахлил қилади. Сингапурнинг айнан шу 20 йиллик тарихий даври шу пайтда мамлакатда махаллий ахолининг сиёсий онгини усиши, илк сиёсий партиялар пайдо бўлиши билан қизиқарлидир. Амалга оширилган тахлил асосида хулосалар келтирилган.
