The article analyzes the role and significance of state policy in enhancing the international potential of pilgrimage tourism, as well as examines the impact of integrating pilgrimage tourism into the global tourism market on the development of regional economies. The paper considers the experience of countries with developed pilgrimage tourism and analyzes the tourism potential of key regions in Central Asia, particularly Uzbekistan. Based on official data from the World Tourism Organization and the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the article highlights the contribution of pilgrimage tourism to the economy and the role of international cooperation in its development. The study aims to identify new directions for economic growth in the regions of Uzbekistan through the integration of pilgrimage tourism into the global tourism market.
