The article discusses the development of pilgrimage tourism associated with the performance of the rites of Hajj and Umrah by Muslims, as well as the sphere of modern tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A comparative analysis of trends in the development of pilgrimage and modern types of tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been carried out.
