In this article, the Alisher Navois’ scientific heritage – stored in the fund of the University of Michigan – America, the manuscript “Hamsa”, and the epic “Sabayi Sayyar” which is included in it, rewritten in Herat by the calligrapher Abd as-Salom ibn abd as-Samad al-Marginani al-Kashgari shows one by one the structure of the epic, the styles of the calligrapher and separately written lines. Information is given about such textual terms as “gloss” and “interpolation”.
