The article presents the results of a study on the effectiveness of the application of potassium fertilizers at the rate of 100 kg ha-1 prepared from local raw materials in a background of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers at rates of 200 and 140 kg ha-1, respectively in cotton production under irrigated light sierozem and meadow-alluvial soils. As a result of the research, it was determined that application of local potassium fertilizers at the rate of 50 kg ha-1 during the plowing of the soil and 50 kg ha-1 during the budding phase was optimal. In this case, a positive effect was observed on the change in the content of exchangeable potassium in the soil and an increase in seed cotton yield by 0.59-0.25 t ha-1 due to the better uptake of the plant.
