The article highlights the reforms carried out by the Soviet Union in 1985–1991, reconstruction policies, and certain aspects of this process, in particular economic necessity and stages of reform. The impact of the processes taking place during this short period on the socio-economic life of Uzbekistan has been scientifically analyzed.
