This article reveals the authors’ research on the repressive policies pursued by the punitive bodies of the Soviet government in the socio-economic sphere in the Uzbek SSR in 1918-1940 using the example of the Jizzakh region. The article also highlights historical facts concerning the restriction of national and religious values, the destruction of cultural heritage, censorship and other forms, as well as economic repression in the form of taxes, mandatory payments, restrictions on economic activity and other forms. based on a range of scientific literature and sources.
